Friday Photo: Street, Naples

Naples in the Rain, BLN. March, 2006

One of my favorite guilty pleasures, La Strada is a pictorial rendering of Italian daydreams. Run by a couple of well-known journalists, most pictures are taken on the fly with point-and-shoot cameras or phones. The resulting snapshots depict Italy at its most appetizingly authentic.

If you have not seen “Midnight in Paris”, it looks to be right up your alley! xoxo

I intend to check it out soon! Have you seen it? Thoughts?

I did indeed see it. I think it is perfect for any francophile, as it exhibits the charm and beauty of Paris (especially during the 1920’s) while also acknowledging the inclination towards romanticizing other times and locations. There is a Hemingway, Zelda Fitzgerald, and Gertrude Stein that alone are worth it!

The 20s are my favorite decade and I am also quite curious as to how Zelda is portrayed. I am there!
